Welcome

Being Governor of District 112C is for me a great honour, but above all a responsibility: the duty to continue the work of those who, for more than 75 years, have kept the Lions values alive in Belgium.

The governor training is a rich learning journey, made up of readings of E learn of Lion Portal, exercises, and both online and in‑person seminars. It has given me new energy and strengthened my mission.

This year’s theme — leading change with a team, a vision, a plan and a path to success — has guided all our reflections.

The Hong Kong Convention reminded us how precious it is to be a Lion: an experience we can be proud of and one we enjoy sharing.

Service lies at the heart of our commitment. It creates genuine bonds with communities, nurtures friendship, the joy of serving, and gratitude. It offers wonderful opportunities to grow, to develop one’s talents and to exercise leadership. Lions International supports us with resources and grants, notably through LCIF, and connects us to a large global family dedicated to building a better world.

Our actions align with the global goals of Lions International and with the Lions Code, while strengthening the visibility of our projects and the exchange of best practices.

With Mission 1.5, we aim for 1,500,000 members. Some countries are already growing by 10%, in Asia, Africa, and in Europe growth is taking shape, particularly in Italy and Germany. This growth strengthens our impact and expands our communities.

When Léon Vannuvel founded the first Belgian Lions Club on 2 May 1952, he laid the foundations of a movement driven by a simple conviction: serving others. Today, that conviction still unites us and gives full meaning to our motto: We Serve.

Every club, every member, every action contributes in a concrete way to improving the lives of people who need support. Behind each project stand women and men who are committed, generous and passionate. This human richness is what makes our district strong.

Values that unite us

I deeply believe that our future rests on simple values: respect, listening, friendship, humility, ethics, solidarity and service. These values are not just words. They guide each of our decisions and each of our actions.

Building the future together

The world is changing rapidly and the needs of our communities are growing. We must continue to adapt, welcome new members, support younger generations and give our clubs the means to pursue their development.

This year, I wish to emphasise sustainable growth for our district, greater visibility for our actions and stronger ties between our clubs.

The theme proposed by our International President, Rooted in Service, perfectly illustrates this ambition. The more visible our commitment is, the more it inspires, unites and encourages action.

Listening and supporting

I wish to be a Governor close to the clubs. Together with the members of my Cabinet and all district committees, we are at your disposal to support you, share our experience and provide the resources you need.

Our role is not to act in your place, but to help you succeed in your projects and action plans.
