Peace poster Commission

The Peace Poster Contest is organised at three levels:

  • at club level,
  • at district level,
  • and through a national jury.

The Peace Poster Contest commission monitors the drawing contest until the winner is announced at the national level. Every year, Lions Peace Poster Contest encourages children around the world to create a drawing focused on the theme of peace. Through this symbolic message, friendship and hope are spread throughout the world. Today’s children are tomorrow’s world citizens.

Each year, Lions International supports this drawing competition for children aged from 11 to 13. The aim of the Peace Poster Contest is to make kids think about the message of peace, raise awareness of Lions among teachers and parents, and encourage new members to get involved in club life within their own section. The winning drawing from each club qualifies for the district competition and can go on to the national and international competitions. At the end of April, the commission collects the drawings of the 12 winners from the 4 districts. A neutral jury makes a selection and the final winners are announced. Participating schools receive a nice gift voucher from the Lions Clubs, or the winners and their parents are invited to the national awards ceremony, Kids Day!
